Bob joined the firm as an articling student in 1978, became an associate in 1979, and joined the partnership in 1983. Bob has focused his law practice on corporate and commercial law, real estate transactions and wills and estates, but also has a broad range of experience, including sports, aviation and non-profit law. Currently, Bob assists clients with corporate governance matters, contracts, commercial leases, financings, real estate transactions, and wills and estates matters. Many of Bob’s clients include privately-held and owner-operator businesses, lenders, educational institutions, sports franchises, aircraft leasing companies, non-profit organizations, and professionals. Since 1992, Bob has acted as counsel to the Alberta New Home Warranty Program and has significant experience in construction completion matters, builders’ liens, builder insolvency, and disputes. Bob has also acted as counsel to the Western Hockey League since 2004, dealing with legal matters ranging from league governance and expansion to franchise acquisition and relocation.

Outside of the office, Bob is an active member of his community and has served as president, a board member and a consultant for several community organizations. He enjoys the occasional round of golf and is a long-standing member of the Crown hockey team. Bob is married and is the proud father of four adult children. Recently, Bob and his wife Lorraine have been travelling the globe to visit his children who are living abroad, and he is looking forward to charting new territory with his family in the future.
