Kimberly joined the firm as an associate in 2013 and has developed a broad practice in many areas of law. She practices primarily in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, focusing on contractual disputes, shareholder remedies, fraud, land and title issues, commercial leasing, trademark infringement, builders’ liens, and debt collection. Kimberly also has a significant employment law practice, acting for both employers and employees. Her experience includes drafting employment contracts and workplace policies, assisting in disciplinary matters, terminations and layoffs, participating in workplace investigations, addressing wrongful dismissal and Human Rights claims, and handling Occupational Health and Safety matters. In addition to her litigation and employment law practices, Kimberly does a significant amount of business law and commercial and residential real estate.
Kimberly has appeared at the Alberta Court of Appeal, Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Alberta Provincial Court. She has also conducted litigation in Saskatchewan. When possible, Kimberly uses a collaborative approach to dispute resolution and has assisted clients in judicial dispute resolutions (JDRs), arbitrations, and mediations.
Prior to attending law school, Kimberly worked for a local non-profit organization that provides service to children and youth. She has also been involved in organizations that work towards ending homelessness. In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys volunteering, doing yoga, and spending time outdoors with her husband and three children.
